铌酸锂晶体是一种重要的多功能晶体,具有良好的非线性光学性质,其非线性光学系数较大;而且能够实现非临界相位匹配。作为电光晶体,已经作为重要的光波导材料;作为压电晶体,可以应用于制作中低频SAW滤波器,大功率耐高温的超声换能器等。掺杂铌酸锂材料应用也相当广泛。Mg:LN,可以大大提高抗激光损伤阈值,促进了铌酸锂晶体在非线性光学领域的应用;Nd:Mg:LN晶体,可实现自倍频效应;Fe:LN晶体可用在光学体全息存储。

LiNbO3 Crystals is widely used as frequency doublers for wavelength > 1um and optical parametric oscillators (OPOs) pumped at 1064 nm as well as quasi-phase-matched (QPM) devices. Due to its large Elector-Optic (E-O) and Acousto-Optic (A-O) coefficients, LiNbOcrystal is the most commonly used material for Pockel Cells, Q-switches and phase modulators, waveguide substrate, and surface acoustic wave (SAW) wafers, etc.
